First off I have to say this has been one of the most frustrating mornings. If you read my previous post you will understand why I am a happy neurotic when you read this one.
Most of my blogs are written as soon as my feet hit the morning floor. Some are written at the library when I am in stealth, people watching mode. The ones written in the afternoon are usually a chore because I have to sort through all the things that have happened during the day. Evening blogs are non-existant. Mornings are best because sleep is what puts our thoughts back in order so we can start fresh once we wake up. What makes this a happy neurotic day is the fact that I have yelled "ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME??" three times immediately followed by an eye-roll. Then I laughed at the fact irony got the better of me.
Here is what happened. I woke up early and well rested with a great idea for a blog. Wiping the sleep from my eyes I sit in my cozy office chair rubbing my eager hands together waiting for the computer to start up. But, it takes a while because my anti-virus has decided this would be a good idea to run a full scan and then update itself. If you have ever updated a software online with an older computer you will know that it takes most of your resourses and then slows down the function of everything else computer related. Half an hour later the computer wants to reboot to accept the updates and in the process update Windows. Its now 10:15am and I was up at 7:30am with this great idea for a blog. Since then I have showered, watched Regis and Kelly, made tea, gathered laundry, checked the mail and decided what I am going to shop for when I make the trip to the grocery store. So....what was I going to blog about?
Now the thing about blogging in the morning is that you think its pure brilliance, but after the day goes on you realize its not that big of a deal. Im almost embarassed when I think about it. Not sure if I want to write anything now but I will. If I offend anyone, I am sorry, but if your interest hasnt been lost yet you will understand why I am apologizing ahead of time.
Lately a lot of people have said to me "Everything happens for a reason" I am here to clear the air on that cop-out phrase. Sure things happen for a reason, without that reason things would not happen. But I believe we are looking at it backwards. For instance, I am writing this blog late and the reason is that my computer was slow to wake up. The reason my computer was slow to wake up is because I didnt do the updates yesterday. There is no mystical reason for things to happen because each and every one of us has free will. The reason things happen depends solely on what happened in the past. We have the freedom to choose what our day is going to bring us, you are the designer of your destiny. If you are in a situation where someone is not allowing you to think for yourself then you have allowed someone else control of you and thats your choice. Its up to you to change what you want. So when you say to me that the reason my computer was slow will be shown to be in the near furture, is just silly. Turn it around! You cannot make excuses for your decisions because you know the universe has something bigger and better on the horizon. your decisions affect other decisions that have yet to be made. Again, you have free will so decide wisely. Bad decisions by the way, are part of the learning process, not part of the universe yet to happen. Of course this is my opinion. I am sure I offended someone.
Well now that I am done with this blog, 3 hours late, I am going to head to the grocery store where I will make more decisions. I hope I didnt bore you with my lack-luster, non-existant brilliance.
