I have been chasing the cardinals around the yard trying my best to get a pic. They are so brilliant red that I cant just NOT try. Yesterday I had my camera out and the corner of my eye caught two chipmunks racing for the gazebo. (I closed it up last week because I had to rescue a robin who thought the screen was a door and nearly exhausted himself to death trying to get through) The two quick rodents ran right under the wall and were trapped inside. They figured out how to get in but ran in circles trying to find the door marked EXIT. I thought for sure Id be able to creep up on them and snap a pic but they were clever and waited for the breeze to lift the wall for them. They sat on the deck for a second watching me come and then ran off into oblivian. The cardinals arent as cooperative if you can imagine that.
The hostas are putting on quite a show. I have a great shot of one and will be uploading that pic as soon as I get it edited. This computer has no editing programs (Im lost without it) so I will be digging up my trusty Corel and loading it on here.
Not sure if I mentioned this before but sometimes when it comes to photographing flowers its best to get up close and personal. Put on your macro and wait for the sun to be in the right spot so you dont over expose. The breeze is always an issue too so a tripod is a handy tool to keep close by.
Off to bed early tonight. We have a huge garden to landscape in the morning and Im already tired.
Happy Summer Solstice!!
